Authors who choose to publish their work in The Global TESOL and Applied Linguistics Review (GTALR) retain full copyright of their articles. By submitting, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and agree to have their work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). This license is designed to promote the open exchange of knowledge, allowing others to share, adapt, and build upon the work, provided that they give appropriate credit to the original authors and acknowledge its initial publication in this journal.
In addition to these terms, authors are free to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal’s published version of their work, such as posting it to an institutional repository or including it in a book or edited volume, provided that the initial publication in GTALR is clearly acknowledged. We believe in the importance of maximizing the visibility of academic research; therefore, authors are fully permitted and encouraged to post their work online, including on personal websites or in institutional repositories, both prior to and during the submission process. This practice is supported by the journal as it facilitates productive scholarly exchanges and contributes to higher citation rates for the published research.
